Promotions aren't handed out for years of service or even badassery - they are handed out for, first and foremost, command ability. Titus is said to have an analytical mind, and is still a top-notch fighter; he's also nicer to the Imperial Guard than 99% of all Imperial officials.&lt;br /&gt;

Sidonis is a confident Veteran Sergeant and might simply refuse promotions because he's more comfortable leading a squad or assisting a Captain. He's a veteran of the Tyrranic Wars, an able fighter... but likely unfit for the breadth of the duties of a Captain.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
